About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Elmhurst, NY, Saranrom Thai delivers an authentic taste of Thailand that is both vibrant and comforting. Specializing in classic Thai cuisine, this restaurant invites diners on a flavorful journey through the rich culinary traditions of Thailand, all served within a warm and thoughtfully designed space that enhances the overall experience.

The menu is a treasure trove for lovers of Thai food, featuring standout dishes that showcase both bold and delicate flavors. Among the must-tries is the Mango Sticky Rice, a perfectly balanced dessert that combines sweet mango, sticky rice infused with creamy coconut milk, and a delightful crunch from yellow mung beans. Equally enticing is their Lunch Pad Thai, which is a masterclass in texture and taste with its sautéed thin rice noodles, dried shrimp, egg, peanuts, fresh bean sprouts, chives, and radish, offering a savory, slightly tangy flavor profile that keeps you coming back for more.

Curry enthusiasts will appreciate Saranrom Thai’s authentic and richly spiced traditional Thai curries: the Green Curry (แกงเขียวหวาน), Red Curry (แกงเผ็ด), and Panang Curry (พะแนง). Made with fresh ingredients like Thai eggplant, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and aromatic fresh basil simmered in creamy coconut milk, these curries offer layers of fiery heat and deep, complex flavors that are surprisingly harmonious and never overwhelming.

For those seeking something unique and true to Thai culinary heritage, the new dessert offerings such as Yaowarat Tang Yuan — black sesame glutinous rice balls served in a hot brown sugar ginger soup — and Bua Loy Kai Kem — a luscious blend of taro and salted egg yolk rice balls in coconut milk topped with sesame — provide an innovative yet nostalgic finish to the meal.

The lunch menu also offers excellent value and variety, featuring specials like the Pad See Ew with its savory flat rice noodles and Chinese broccoli, and the spicy-sweet Drunken Noodle, enlivened with shrimp chili paste and fresh basil, all accompanied by a complimentary spring roll or fried egg to elevate your midday dining experience.

Beyond the food, many guests praise Saranrom Thai for its inviting atmosphere and attentive service. As Vina enthusiastically shares, “Every dish is packed with stunning flavor. The interior is thoughtfully designed, and the overall dining experience is consistently satisfying — truly one of the best Thai restaurants in New York.” Similarly, Kathe notes the warm and charismatic hospitality, which perfectly complements the spectacular food, creating an evening to remember.

Whether you’re craving the spicy, aromatic depths of their signature curries or the sweet comfort of their traditional desserts, Saranrom Thai offers a beautifully balanced dining experience. It is this thoughtful attention to both authenticity and ambiance that makes it a standout choice for Thai cuisine lovers across New York City.

First time checking out my neighborhood and I’m honestly impressed! The staff were super friendly the moment we walked in, and the place had such a warm, cozy vibe. We started with the Pad Ped Pla Duk and Fish Cakes, both were packed with flavor. For our mains, we shared the Khao Soi noodles and Kee Mao Thai, and they were amazing! Generous portions, really tasty, and the spice level (mild) was just right. Definitely coming back and telling my friends about this spot. Such a hidden gem in the neighborhood!

Our first time dining here was nothing short of fabulous! From the moment we walked in, the host welcomed us with such warmth, kindness, and genuine charisma that immediately set the tone for a great evening. Our server was equally wonderful—friendly, attentive, and incredibly professional, making sure everything flowed smoothly. The food? Absolutely spectacular. Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully prepared, and served fresh. It was clear that a lot of care goes into both the recipes and the presentation. The Crabmeat Fried Rice, Pad Thai, and Massaman Curry were standouts—delicious, comforting, and authentic. As first-time guests, we couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Thai cuisine. The combination of outstanding food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere made this experience truly memorable. We left grateful, satisfied, and excited to return. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a genuine, delightful Thai dining experience. Thank you to the entire team for making our evening so special!

There is a reason why this place is always packed, even on the eve of Thanksgiving. Given we aren’t sure if we will be this lucky with getting a table within 5 mins in the future, we decided to order everything that we wanted to try as if this is our only chance to do so. As residents of Hell’s Kitchen, we are very familiar with Thai cuisine in NYC, but Saranrom Thai takes it to the next level! It serves dishes that we normally don’t see on a typical Thai restaurant in the City. For the two of us, we went with the server’s recommendations - Moo Ping (delicious pork skewers), Kua Kling (spicy ground pork with rice), Hoy Tod (crispy mussels pancake - a crossover between Taiwanese oyster pancake and Vietnamese pancake), and Nam Ngiao (noodle soup from Northern part of Thailand). You basically can’t go wrong with ordering from the first page of the menu. Now, if you are looking for something that might be more familiar, like Pad Thai, it is available as well. Cocktail menu was extensive and full of interesting options. The prices were so attractive that it is hard to just have one drink. Must try “The Tea for Yu”. Portions were generous, but if you over order like we did, they make great leftovers! Lastly, services were on point and our water glass was never empty despite how busy the restaurant was.

Absolutely loved my visit at Saranrom Thai Restaurant! The flavors were authentic, fresh, and well-balanced. The Pad Thai and Tom Yum were both outstanding — spicy, tangy, and full of aroma. The service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. Definitely a place I’d love to return to!

Amazing service by everyone, even the host!!! Loved the Thai iced tea, the best I’ve had in a long time and the mango sticky rice was so yummy. Portions are good and enough to share! Only giving it 4 stars because my crab meat fried rice was lacking in flavor a bit.

Absolutely amazing experience at Sa Ran Rom Thai! From the moment we walked in, the cozy ambiance and warm hospitality set the tone for a fantastic meal. Every dish was bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors — the mango salad was refreshing and perfectly balanced, the pad kee mao with shrimp was spicy, savory, and addictive, and the whole crispy fish was a true showstopper: perfectly fried, tender on the inside, and topped with a delicious garlic sauce and fresh herbs. The drink was refreshing and paired beautifully with the bold flavors of the food. Presentation was on point — every plate looked as good as it tasted. The service was attentive, friendly, and made the whole dining experience even better. If you love authentic Thai cuisine, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommend it — we’ll definitely be coming back!

Tried Saranrom years ago and was not impressed but gave them another try today for dine-in and love the meal. Staffs were friendly, welcoming, and attentive since you walk in and constantly check in on you to make sure you have what you need. Food was served quickly and delicious. Portion is very generous especially compare to price. Highly recommend their chicken garlic - simple but made just right and reminds you of authentic street food in Thailand!
